The Frenchman began his career with Metz in 2005 before moving to Newcastle in 2008. A year later he secured a move to Spurs, where he spent the following three seasons.

Norwich City signed the player in 2012 and after a five-year stint that involved a loan stint at Watford, the club didn't re-sign the player. Bassong is currently a free agent and without a club.
