#4 Jamal Blackman
Jamal Blackman is a 24-year-old English goalkeeper who played for Sheffield United on loan from Chelsea last season. Blackman joined the Blues as a 13-year-old in 2006 but he is yet to play a single minute for the senior team yet. Like Tomas Kalas, Blackman also signed a new contract in the summer that makes him contracted till 2021 before leaving on loan.
The 'keeper is currently in his 4th loan spell, with the first one being at Middlesbrough. At Boro, he struggled for game time and was mostly restricted to cup games. His second loan spell was at Swedish side Ostersunds FK but he got his big breakthrough at League 2 side Wycombe Wanderers. Last season he played for championship side Sheffield United and he had a good spell for them.
Blackman is quite unlucky that he plays for such a big club. It is quite clear that Chelsea do not see him a top prospect because after the departure of Asmir Begovic last summer, they went on to buy 36-year-old Willy Caballero to be the backup goalkeeper instead of giving a chance to Blackman.
Blackman has proven that he is a capable player who can turn into a very good player if given more playing time, but he needs to find a team on his level to continue developing.
