Andrea Bertolacci
Bertolacci was supposed to be one of the key cogs of Milan’s Italian contingent. The club paid a very generous 20 million euros to Roma for the midfielder and expected him to orchestrate the play in their midfield.
Bertolacci had just come off an impressive season for Genoa, on loan from the Romans and had distributed the ball across the pitch and linked up with the attackers in equal measure.
He found himself in a sea of confusion though at Milan and drifted in and out of the first team. His performances were never out of the ordinary and he did in fact miss several one on one’s throughout the course of the season. He was never signed for his scoring exploits of course, but his playmaking also left a lot to be desired.
