#1 David Batty: Newcastle United (1997-98), 3 reds
Former England international and Premier League player with Leeds, Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United, David Batty was a crafty midfielder who was part of many entertaining teams.
Batty began his career at Leeds United and won the First Division title in 1991-92, before Howard Wilkinson, the then Leeds president sold Batty to Blackburn Rovers.
After three years at Rovers, he moved to Newcastle with Alan Shearer to play under Kevin Keegan and came close to winning the title that season.
The former English international was a hard tackling player who gave nothing away and earned three red cards during the 1997-98 campaign becoming the first man in Premier League history to pick up three red cards in a season.
Although the Englishman failed to win the Premier League with Newcastle, he won the title with Blackburn under Kenny Dalglish.
