Real Madrid are set to sign Marco Verratti, and that will leave Paris Saint-Germain with a huge void in the midfield. What better way to get the most of the Verratti deal than getting a player like Luka Modric in return?

A midfield with Blaise Matuidi and Modric will be one of the best in Europe and prove to vital in the Ligue 1 side's surge for glory in the Champions League. The lack of experience among the players was the main reason for them getting knocked out of the competition this season despite having a 4-0 lead.

Unai Emery may or may not be at the club next season, but the signing of Modric can be the one that can get them further in the Champions League. They also lost the league to AS Monaco this season and with the experience and quality Modric will bring in; they can start winning trophies again.
