#3 West Ham United: 57,791
West Ham bid farewell to Boleyn Ground, their home stadium for over a century, and moved to the London Stadium in 2016. Although the arena was constructed specifically for the 2012 Olympics, it is now recognized as the home ground of the Hammers.
The London Stadium is the fourth-largest among Premier League venues and has a capacity of 60,000. On average, 57,791 fans have been in attendance per game this season. Apart from football, the venue also hosts concerts and was the first stadium to host a Major League Baseball game in Europe.
The Hammers' iconic “Forever Blowing Bubbles” tune at the start of a game persists even at the new stadium. West Ham have made tremendous progress under David Moyes and are making themselves a nuisance, especially for the “Big Six”. They are currently fifth in the league.
#2 Arsenal: 59,639
The Emirates Stadium has now become synonymous with Arsenal fans of the newer generation. However, veteran Gooners will be reminiscing about their glory days at their majestic Highbury ground. The Gunners’ first competitive match at the Emirates Stadium was in August 2006.
The stadium has since become one of the most recognizable in the Premier League and has witnessed some thrilling encounters. With a capacity of 60,704, it is the third-largest stadium in the league. On average, there have been 59,616 fans per game this season.
Arsenal have found success only in the FA Cup after the move and fans will hope that this trend soon changes for the better. The Gunners are still a work in progress under Mikel Arteta, but the future looks bright. They are currently sixth in the league and part of a nail-biting race for the top-four spots.
#1 Manchester United: 73,020
Manchester United’s Theater of Dreams claims the top spot on this list. Old Trafford has witnessed some of the greatest moments in the history of the Premier League and continues to be host to some electrifying matches. United played at Newton Heath until 1910 before shifting to the iconic Old Trafford.
Old Trafford has a total capacity of 74,879 which is the largest in the Premier League by quite a margin. This season, on average, has seen 73,020 fans in attendance. Because of United’s rich history, Old Trafford is also a bustling tourist destination.
United fans were ecstatic to see all-time great Cristiano Ronaldo return to Old Trafford this season. Even though the Red Devils have had a shocking Premier League this time around, their fans have always lent their support and the stadium is always, more or less, full.
