1) The signing of Stewart Downing will undoubtedly have a direct impact on Carroll’s scoring. With Downing known to be a good crosser and always looking to put the ball inside the box will have an easy target with Carroll to pick out in the middle. With many chances coming by, the onus is on Carroll to hit form and it will only be a matter of time, given his potential.

2) Another reason will be Kuyt and Suarez’s work rates and the partnership between these three will only grow with time. With their constant running around and link up plays, Carroll’s task will be cut out and hence he will be able to impose himself better. His physical strength and finishing abilities can be fatal for the oppositions and for this to flourish, game time with Kuyt and Suarez will answer it.

3) A proper pre-season training with the fellow Kop players would definitely have helped him develop a good rappo which is very important for a striker. His positioning and style of play will be understood better by his team mates and this will only be a bonus to him and for Liverpool.
