#4 Lost the fans' backing
The 67-year old used to be a cult figure in North London now he’s seen as enemy number one. He’s the face of Arsenal’s stagnancy and fans vent all their frustration at him. Every week we’re greeted with #WengerOut banners and protests, these displays of rage only further contribute to the toxic atmosphere already at the club.
When most of the Emirates crowd are constantly dishing out abuse, it makes the players nervous and they ultimately make mistakes. Playing at home no longer feels like an advantage for the Gunners and it’s what Wenger has created. No matter how big a club is, it needs fan support and Arsène Wenger doesn’t have that privilege anymore.
