#3 He’s lost the dressing room
As the man that many former players call their ‘father’, it’s indicative of how bad things have become at Arsenal that he’s now lost the dressing room. The transfer window allowed the Frenchman to clear out much of the ‘deadwood’ at the club but he wasn’t fully able to shift the players who aren’t happy.
Alexis Sánchez, Mesut Özil & Jack Wilshere are all big characters at Arsenal and their obvious unhappiness at the club is unsettling the dressing room. Sánchez was rumoured to have been the source of several training ground bust-ups last season and now that he hasn’t been granted a move to Manchester City, he will only cause more disputes.
At the end of the day, the players Arsène Wenger brought to the club, don’t want to play for him anymore. They see the club is going nowhere and are tired of not being tactically prepared for the big games. They’re tired of being sent out for the slaughter week in week out. Wenger may be a respected figure in the world of football but in his own dressing room, he’s no one.
