#3 Statement
One of the things that set Madrid apart from the other clubs is their willingness to make a statement after some quiet transfer windows. Added to that, Barcelona have made two marquee signings in the form of Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho.
So it is about time for the construction magnate Florentino Perez to go gung-ho in the transfer market.
When Barcelona were dominating everything, Perez came in and splashed the cash on Karim Benzema, Xabi Alonso, Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo. Although it didn’t work instantly, the long-term rewards were significant.
In fact, his £86 million outlay of Gareth Bale wasn’t too bad either as the Welshman scored the winning goals in both the Champions League and Copa del Rey finals.
So now, the best way for Perez to make a statement is to sign the best player of the Premier League—which is, as of now, Harry Kane.
