As I said, Klopp has proven he can take clubs all the way to the final, and then all Liverpool will need is another Istanbul performance and they will be the champions of Europe once more.

Obviously, it's not as simple as that. That was 13 years ago and the squad that played that match has been completely replaced by a new team of players. That said, I still believe Liverpool's European history gives them somewhat of a boost.
Liverpool fans and players alike all know that they've won it five times (they won't shut up about it, to be honest), and thus know that Liverpool are one of the giants of European football. That badge represents a team that has fought and won at European football and when the players don that badge that's who they represent.
It's a small psychological boost I'll admit, but one that shouldn't be underestimated. The fans have watched their players do it before and will believe in this new team, and if that translates to this new team believing in themselves, then Liverpool could definitely pull off something pretty special.
