5 reasons why Liverpool vs Man Utd will be an absolute belter

No trophies will be won when these two sides meet come Sunday. Still, it is one of the biggest matches of the season. Arguably, it’s the greatest rivalry in world football. History vs History. Champions of the past vs Champions of the present. Reds vs Red Devils. Lets find out what will make this match so special for almost everyone who follows football-Infamous Handshake Saga

Luis Suarez has always troubled Man Utd on field but off field his experience haven’t been good at all. He was accused of racially abusing the Frenchman and had to suffer an eight match ban. Adding to the controversy, they didn’t shake each others hand at Old Trafford. Liverpool supported Luis throughout without any indisposition . In fact, King Kenny took one for the club supporting Suarez. Many claim that he lost his job because of that. Well, the fact is that Liverpool have immense faith in Suarez. So, it would be interesting to see the way these two men go about the pre match rituals. Apparently what seems just an handshake, can in fact decide the way game is going to be played.

Hillsborough report – JFT 96

It has been a long journey. It’s unbelievable the way fans and the club struggled against the law. Clubs from all around the UK supported Liverpool. After the reports, this is going to be Liverpool’s first home game. There is no better way to pay tribute to the 96 than a win over the arch rivals of Manchester. Emotions will run high, chants will be louder and that will only help Liverpool. The extra amount of inspiration needed to win such matches only fans can provide and Anfield crowd knows how to sing and how to sing loud.

Search for the first League Win

It’s the worst start to a league season in over 100 years for Liverpool. They are hanging just above the bottom three with just two points from four games. Now, is there a better way to get a first home win than against Man Utd? Easier said than done I know, but that is how you make a statement. Liverpool have a point to prove that they are not in a mess, that they are moving forward and that they can win big matches. Liverpool turn up against big teams, especially against Man Utd anyway.

Goals Galore

Liverpool vs Man Utd- a game which generally produces goals; 2.8 goals per match if you go by the stats in last 20 years. The last time these two giants produced a goal-less match was back in September 2005. With players like Van Persie, Steven Gerrard, Nani & Luis Suarez, I can surely smell some goals. It can be a moment of individual brilliance, clever play or someone’s mistake, but there will be goals.

Sir Alex Ferguson vs Brendon Rodgers

Okay, you might argue how this is going to be a factor. Well, if you look at the situation of Manchester Untied when Ferguson took over and Rodger’s situation when he took over at Liverpool, the resemblance is uncanny. Sir Alex had a vision and he was inspired. When you see Rodgers talking, you cant really help but compare him with the Young Ferguson. It’s Wisdom and Experience vs Hunger and Passion if you ask me.

Who ever wins the match will instantly have the bragging rights. No matter how professional these two manager pretend to be, deep down inside they know they’ll lose much more than just 3 points if they lose this game. Some will rejoice and some will be left dejected. I certainly hope to be in the former list. It happens twice every year and still we can’t seem to get enough of it. Will the Liver-bird fly high or the Red Devil be the winner? Its going to be intense and I just can’t wait for it! Matches like these make football more than just a game.
