#4 Manage an end-cycle
Real Madrid have had the same core group of players for the last five years or so. The likes of Luka Modric, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Sergio Ramos, Karim Benzema and Isco have been at the club for a long time now, but a lot of that could change in the summer.
Cristiano Ronaldo is 33 and only just insinuated that his future with the Blancos is up in the air. Meanwhile, Gareth Bale implied something very similar as he claimed that he needs to play every week and that he will talk to his agent soon.
Luka Modric and Sergio Ramos are 32-years-old respectively and Karim Benzema, who is 30, is being touted with a move outside the club. In short, the core group is nearing disbandment and someone headstrong will be needed to oversee it and steadily turn the bench players into first-teamers.
And there is no-one better than Zidane to do this because if a new manager is brought in at this time, there is a good chance that everything could fall into a quagmire, much akin to what happened when Vicente Del Bosque was sacked.
