5 reasons why Samoa Joe should win the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber

The Elimination Chamber is the next big PPV in the WWE. It follows the Royal Rumble and we already have a six-man match for the WWE Championship in the event. It all began when Daniel Bryan introduced his new eco-friendly WWE belt to the WWE Universe.

While he was displaying his new belt, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, Mustafa Ali and Samoa Joe came out to the ring one by one to make a claim for the title held by ‘The New’ Daniel Bryan.

Subsequently, chaos broke out and there was mayhem in the ring that included the aforementioned five superstars. Daniel Bryan stood over the commentary table when Triple HHH, through the Titantron, announced that all the five superstars are getting a shot at the title in an Elimination Chamber match, much to the dismay of Daniel Bryan.

And this match should be won by Samoa Joe – and here are five reasons why…

#5 Past achievements

Samoa Joe is no muck when it comes to the wrestling circuit. He made a name for himself as a wrestler even before joining the WWE. In fact, he joined WWE just a little over three years ago and was a well-known name way before that,

His most notable accolades include a Ring of Honor (RoH) Pure Championship title, a RoH World Championship, a Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Television Championship and a TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

On top of that, after joining the NXT wing of the WWE, he became the NXT champion twice. These achievements prove that he is a man worthy of being the WWE champion.

And winning the biggest title of them all would be a good first individual title for him to win in the main roster of the WWE.

#4 Badass character

It would be very difficult to find a more badass character than that of Samoa Joe's. The way he moves around and his overall body language are some things that separate him from the rest.

And then there are his other-worldly mic skills. He is arguably the most naturally gifted entertainer on the mic in the WWE right now. Cutting good promos is not about mugging up the entire script, it is about improvising while cutting it and the dialogue delivery.

In this regard, there is perhaps no one better than him in the company now. Joe’s mic skills could be compared to some of the greatest entertainers ever (read: The Rock, CM Punk) and a WWE champion that can cut Godly promos is a worthy champion.

As a Champion, he will have to do a lot of talking on the mic and that is when we get to witness the best of Joe.

#3 Bulldog in the ring

Samoa Joe is in this business for two decades now and has honed his skills while working alongside the very best. The result of all that years of hard work and diligence can now be seen whenever he steps foot onto the ring.

He might be short in stature but his huge build makes it feel like a bulldog is fighting in the ring. Whenever he is inside the ring, he gives it his fullest and puts on a show that the fans would enjoy – even at the expense of his own health.

"We sacrifice ourselves every day when we go in that ring, and I know it proudly. I know what I signed up for and I do not shy away from that fact at all. There's a good chance I will be in a wheelchair when I'm 60, and you know, hey, I signed up for that. I know that," he once said.

#2 Better heel than Daniel Bryan

There is no doubt about this. Samoa Joe was born to play the role of a heel in the WWE. All of his feuds in his rather short stint in the company have been a work of art.

It began with him feuding against Brock Lesnar. The feud was followed by his villainous run against AJ Styles, whom he tried to break not only physically but also emotionally.

Indeed, Joe never held back in bringing Styles’ wife in conversations with him, leading the Phenomenal One to illegally attack him at SummerSlam last year. He also did the same last week, which began the in-ring brawl between the aforementioned five.

Most recently, he feuded with Jeff Hardy and that was like hitting a jackpot for him as Hardy’s past problems with drug abuse are readymade content for Joe to use – just like how CM Punk did about 10 years ago.

When Hardy tried to interrupt him last week during the in-ring showdown, he retorted by saying: ‘Hey, do me a favor, why don’t you act like this is an AA meeting and you shut your mouth when I am sharing with the group.’

Randy Orton’s reaction to that says it all.

#1 It is about time

About time Joe gets a push
About time Joe gets a push

In a few months’ time, it will be four years since Samoa Joe joined the WWE. So far in his time, he has never won an individual title in the main roster. For someone as good as him, this is just not good enough from WWE.

He should be among those wrestlers that WWE should push more. He should be among the light carriers for the company. They have a babyface Seth Rollins leading RAW and while Daniel Bryan is a good wrestler, a heel Daniel Bryan isn’t the best that WWE could produce.

If WWE wants a heel to be the face of SmackDown Live, it should be Samoa Joe and the only way that could be possible now is by giving him the push he deserves.

And what better a push than to let Joe win his first individual championship in the main roster of the WWE?
