On September 2nd, Portugal squared up against the Republic of Ireland in a 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifier. Cristiano Ronaldo and co. were nowhere near their best and allowed Ireland to take the lead in the 45th minute of the game through John Egan.

It looked like the night was going to end in disappointment for Portugal until Ronaldo took matters into his own hands in the closing stages of the game. He produced two thumping headers in the 89th and 96th minute to help Portugal fashion a sensational comeback win.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 110th and 111th goal of his international career that night. In doing so, he broke Iran's Ali Daei's record for most number of international goals scored in men's football.
