#3 Most goals in a Champions League season by a Manchester United player

Talking further about goals, here's another one. Ronaldo is the all-time top-scorer in the Champions League with 134 goals. He also holds the record for the most scored in a single campaign with 17.

However, when it comes to Manchester United, his best return came during the title-winning season of 2007-08 with eight goals.

He ranks third in that regard, behind Ruud van Nistelrooy's 10 goals in the 2001-02 season and 12 in the 2002-03 season.

Everyone knows how much the Portuguese ace loves scoring in the competition. So you wouldn't put it past him to bag 12+ goals once again, would you?

#2 First Manchester United player to win Premier League under two managers

An obvious one but quite an important record too. All of Ronaldo's Premier League success came under Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United haven't won one since the Scotsman retired in 2013.

But if the former Real Madrid star could guide United back to the pinnacle of English football under Solskjaer, he'd become the first player to do so under two managers.

But more importantly, it would underline what a great player he remains and also add to his legendary status.

#1 First player in professional football to cross 800 career goals

According to official records from the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), Ronaldo is currently the most prolific goalscorer in the history of football with 785 goals.

That's more than Pele, Romario, Ferenc Puskas, Josef Bican and his arch-rival Lionel Messi, all of whom are in the 700s when it comes to official number of goals scored.

However, with just 15 more goals, he could be the first player in history to surpass the elusive 800-goal mark. With Messi at a distant 748, he faces no real challenge either.

To put that into perspective, if a player scores 50 goals each in 15 seasons, he'd still have a lot less than that. But again, Ronaldo isn't any other player.

He's the greatest scorer football has ever seen.
