This record is currently shared between Torino legend Gino Rossetti who scored a whopping 36 goals during the 1928/1929 season, and Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain, who also scored as many during his stint with Napoli FC during the 2015/2016 campaign.
Having already found the back of the net an impressive 17 times in 22 Serie A appearances so far this season, Cristiano Ronaldo only needs 19 goals in the Italian top flight in order to match this record. With about 16 games still left to be played in the division, the attacker has a good chance to reach the feat.
