#3 Fans will distrust Wenger even more
Throughout the entirety of last season, Arsène Wenger proclaimed that Arsenal were no longer in a position where they needed to sell. Gone were the days where to keep financially afloat they had to sell Fabregas, Nasri and van Persie to title rivals. Now they’re financially sound to the point where they can compete with Europe’s elite. However, we’re in the summer of 2017 and instead of Arsenal’s two best players being tied down to new contracts, there’s still confusion over where their future lies.
This confusion has been created by the incompetence of the club and delusional ramblings of the manager. He’s led fans to believe that Arsenal are a big club, despite not finishing in the top four, and that Sánchez and Ozil want to be at the club. All this despite the speculation regarding their future.
If you thought the protests were bad last season, they’ll be magnified in the upcoming season if Alexis makes the switch to the Etihad.
