#3 Chelsea
Revenue: €597 million
Value: €2576 million
Chelsea have been one of the richest clubs in Europe ever since Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich bought the club. He has pumped a lot of money into the club and has been relentless in his efforts to get the Stamford Bridge outfit to perform at the highest level.
This recently concluded summer transfer window was quite a testing one for most clubs as they were severely hit in a financial sense by the Covid-19 pandemic. However, Chelsea were able to go on a spending spree thanks to Abramovich's financial muscle and roped in some of the finest young talents in Europe.
Chelsea have won the lot over the course of the last two decades. They are also infamous for being trigger-hungry when it comes to underperforming managers. But they continue to keep high-standards for themselves and have a huge fanbase that spans the globe.
#2 Manchester City
Revenue: €678 million
Value: €2688 million
Manchester City were catapulted back into prominence in England and Europe following the takeover by Abu Dhabi tycoon Khaldoon Al Mubarak and ever since, they've been one of the richest clubs in the world. They have spent money in the transfer market like no other club and have also been the most dominant side in the Premier League over the last decade.
They've not only been able to rope in some of the finest talents in the world but have also had the clout to hire some of the great football managers. They're currently being led by Pep Guardiola who is renowned as one of the best managerial minds of the modern game.
Champions League glory has remained elusive, however, for the Etihad outfit. But if they can complement their domestic dominance with continental glory, they will go higher up the list.
#1 Manchester United
Revenue: €765 million
Value: €3983 million
Though their best days are a little behind them, Manchester United have been showing signs of life of late. But they've always been a football giant and were the most dominant football club in England in the first decade of the 21st century.
They had been infamous for profligacy in the transfer window and have had a barrage of high-profile signings that did not work out in the end. However, they seem to be turning a new leaf under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Red Devils are one of the most admired and followed clubs in the world and they continue to rake in some of the most lucrative sponsorship deals by virtue of their obvious clout.
Though they've struggled in recent times, they've not been kept out of the UEFA Champions League for prolonged periods and as such, their broadcasting revenues hasn't suffered greatly either. As a result, Manchester United continue to be the richest club in the country.
