#3 Barcelona
Barcelona's financial problems are well documented and yet they did a good job by bringing in the likes of Memphis Depay, Sergio Aguero and Luuk De Jong last summer. However, Aguero was forced to retire due to a heart condition halfway through the season.
Depay's initial form fizzled out and Luuk De Jong has struggled to find his groove. To make matters worse, Ansu Fati was injured in December and Ousmane Dembele is set to leave in the summer as a free agent after contract talks broke down.
The writing was on the wall and the Catalans desperately needed to bolster their attack. They signed Ferran Torres on a permanent deal last month. They are also on the verge of announcing the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on a free transfer.
Barcelona also brought back their former player Adama Traore on loan until the end of the season.
For now, the Catalans have one of the best attacking departments in Europe. Memphis Depay, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, Adama Traore, Ousmane Dembele, Martin Braithwaite and Luuk De Jong make for a dynamic and deep attacking unit.
#2 Chelsea
Chelsea are not exactly a freescoring side. But it's not because of a lack of attacking talent. They strengthened heavily in the attacking department in the summer of 2020 under Frank Lampard. The Blues brought in the likes of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech to bolster their attack.
Since Timo Werner was nowhere close to being clinical, Chelsea decided to shell out €113 million to sign Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan in the summer of 2021. It hasn't gone according to plan and Chelsea have not been at their best in recent times.
But their attacking department has incredible depth. They have Mason Mount, Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech in attacking midfield. Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner are the strikers. They've also got two very good wingers in Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
#1 Liverpool
Liverpool are masters at striking cut-price deals for world-class talent. That's why, despite not spending as heavily as their Premier League counterparts, they still have some of the best attacking talent in all of Europe. The Merseysiders have a very solid attacking department.
Mohamed Salah has been in excellent form this season and is one of the best forwards in the world. Sadio Mane is also a regular in Liverpool's starting lineup and he has done a great job for the club over the past several years.
They've now added Colombian forward Luis Diaz to their squad, signing him from Porto on a deal worth €42 million last month.
They also have Roberto Firmino, the ever-reliable Diogo Jota, the talented Harvey Elliott, the mercurial Divock Origi, Takumi Minamino and Kaide Gordon to call upon. It simply has to be the attacking unit with the most depth in all of Europe.
