#2 Schmeichel is a contender for the 2017/18 Premier League Golden Glove

In a Leicester City backline that produced one of their best performances in a long time, Danish custodian Kasper Schmeichel was the nucleus, pulling off a string of saves in what was a commendable evening for him. The more he was called into action, the more frustration he caused to the men in sky-blue.
Silva first tested with a low strike, but Schmeichel parried it for a corner. Sane then had another dangerous cross in the box being deflected by the Leicester 'keeper that came off Harry Maguire only to harmlessly drift wide off the net, a nervy moment that almost resulted in an own goal.
His goalkeeping dexterity, though, was further accentuated when he acrobatically palmed away the ball to clear the danger, as City almost grabbed a third. He was helpless with the two goals that the visitors managed to bag, despite Leicester's best efforts, but Schmeichel's contributions to the game is simply unquestionable.
The 31-year old Danish international is the reason the game ended with only a 2-0 margin, because without him, it would have been much worse for the hosts. Not that they were bad, but City were just too good. And Schmeichel, perhaps wary, of the menace, stepped up to the plate and reinstated himself in the race for 2017/18 Premier League Golden Glove.
