EPL 2016/17: 5 things Chelsea need to do to beat Manchester United

Chelsea vs Manchester United
Chelsea take on Manchester United later tonight in what promises to be a cracking game

#2 Leave Terry out and keep Zlatan quiet

Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Zlatan has struggled of late but still poses a threat to the Chelsea defence

Not the sort of thing Blues fans want to be reading right now, but it may actually help a whole lot.

Terry hasn’t played since that 2-2 draw with Swansea over a month ago, and he was sorely missed – that is until the system changed. Now that he’s fit and available, one would think that the Blues captain could easily slot in at the centre of the three-man back-line. Yet continuity could serve the Blues a lot better than Terry.

You may argue that he will be training in the formation ahead of the game, however, it’s a tad different when playing in an actual match.

This is not to say that Terry shouldn’t be returned to the starting line-up. But perhaps this particular clash is not one which he should be eased into.

Also, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been rather quiet as of late, but that by no means suggests that he won’t be a deciding factor in this match. The Swede got off to a hot start, but form seems to have left him and he has only scored once in his last seven games. However, the Blues should pay as much attention to him as everyone else.
