Manchester City v Brighton & Hove Albion - Premier League
Aguero scored from a Sterling assist in the 65th minute

Manchester City were up against Brighton at home after their midweek Carabao Cup win over Oxford. City lined up in a 4-3-3 formation, with Sterling and Leroy Sane leading the attack along with Aguero. Brighton started off defensively in a 4-1-4-1 formation.

Aguero, Sane, and Sterling combined beautifully for the first goal as Sterling scored from a Sane assist in the 29th minute to give City the lead. Brighton did test Ederson early on in the match, but failed to score as the first half ended 1-0.

In the second half as well, Guardiola's team produced quality shots on goal, and got their second goal when Aguero scored from a Sterling assist in the 65th minute. Manchester City kept possession of the ball as Brighton were outclassed at the Etihad. The match ended 2-0 in favor of Manchester City.

The 3 points meant that Manchester City went on top of the table with 19 points from 7 matches, ahead of Liverpool on goal difference. Up next for Manchester City is a trip away to face German side Hoffenheim on Matchday 2 of the Champions League.
