Ronaldo's father was a big fan of the 40th president of the United States, Ronald Regan. Ronald Regan was in charge from 1981 to 1989. Ronaldo was born in 1985, and his father liked the name Ronald a lot and so he decided to use that. He altered it to Ronaldo and the rest is history.
