Ronaldo's was an attracting presence at the Bernabeu

Ronaldo has played for both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid in Spain. He is a Brazilian football legend and has won the FIFA World Cup twice.

Real Madrid signed Ronaldo in 2002 for a staggering €46 million. He was a part of the Galacticos, which had current Real Manager Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham, Roberto Carlos, Luis Figo and Raul in it.

Ronaldo spent five seasons with Real Madrid from 2002 to 2006, where he played 177 games and scored 104 goals.

His first three seasons with Real Madrid were prosperous. Ronaldo scored 30 goals in his debut season for Real Madrid. He continued his tremendous form in the next season, where he registered 31 goals.

In the 2004-05 season, Ronaldo had 24 goals to his name from 45 matches.

But, injuries ruined his career. He had stop-start campaigns. He played only 27 games for Real Madrid in the 2005-06 season. A massive decline in the numbers tells the story.

The woes aggravated the next season. The inclusion of Nistelrooy into the squad meant Ronaldo had become a liability at the club.

The Brazilian legend barely made any impact that season and played only 14 games. He left Real Madrid at the end of the season and joined AC Milan. But, it was another calamitous move.
