Leicester City v Manchester City - Carabao Cup Quarter-Final
Last season, Vardy found the back of the net 20 times in 37 games in the Premier League and finished with 23 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions. In the 15/16 season, when Leicester City rode his goals to lift the Premier League in a story fit for fairy tales, the English Striker had scored 24 times in the Premier League.

His rise has been phenomenal and his work ethic and eye for the goal saw him selected in the England squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. This season though, Vardy is going through a dry patch.
Vardy started the season by scoring against Manchester United in a 2-1 loss at Old Trafford. Against Wolves in the next game, he picked up a red card and was subsequently ruled out for the next two matches in the Premier League. He also missed the League Cup tie against Fleetwood due to his suspension. Vardy returned against Bournemouth but failed to score.

He eventually did find the back of the net against Huddersfield and then scored in the following game against Newcastle, but since then, Vardy has failed to score in the last 5 games. The Englishman has just 3 goals from 11 games so far in all competitions.
The last time Vardy went 5 games without scoring was in the 2016/17 season when he had scored just 2 goals in the first 14 games and finished the season with 13 goals from 35 games in the Premier League. Hopefully, this time, the Englishman will have a better season.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
