Belgium v France: Semi Final - 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia
Giroud famously won the 2018 FIFA World Cup without scoring a single goal. And it seems his bad luck has continued into the new season.

Last season, the Frenchman made the move to Stamford Bridge from Arsenal in the winter transfer window, hoping for more playing time after falling behind the likes of Lacazette and Aubameyang at the Emirates. He had also hoped to get back to scoring goals, after scoring just 7 in 26 games for Arsenal in the first half of the season. He added 5 more goals to his tally, from 18 games for Chelsea by May.

This season, Giroud's only goal has come against BATE Borisov away, on 8th November 2018, in the Europa League. Which means that he has scored just 1 goal in 12 games! However, to be fair to him, the French Striker has been in the starting eleven just 6 times.
In the Premier League, Giroud has 4 starts, has played the full 90 minutes just once and has failed to score in 10 games so far. His last start was against Southampton, his last game was as a substitute against Burnley, where he came on for the last 16 minutes. In Chelsea's last game before the International Break against Everton, Giroud was an unused substitute.
One does wonder whether the Frenchman would be a lucky charm for Chelsea as he was for his national team, but as of now, Giroud will only be praying for his goal drought to end.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
