Jan Vertonghen was exceptional in the last season along with Kyle Walker in the defense. The 30 year-old provides solidity and is tactically sharp.

Known for his cohesive tackles, Vertonghen has always been the core of Tottenham Hotspur's defense, manning their territory with authority.
The Belgian has provided an added width in their defense and steadiness because of his reliability at the back. Though, the defender has not been able to repeat his previous season’s performance.
Vertonghen has shown in the past that he can deliver when needed, though and has played an instrumental role in the Spurs defense over the past few seasons.
