This is one transfer I wouldn’t count on. Strootman was on United’s radar for a long time at his time at PSV Eindhoven. He joined the Italian outfit, AS Roma this season and him leaving the club this early is next to inmpossible. But Strootman has been impressive for Roma in their midfield, helping them to hold on to the 2nd spot.
Strootman is a box-to-box midfielder. Not since the time of Roy Keane has that position been aptly filled at United. United needs someone to dictate the play in midfield, to track back to defend, the hold the ball in possession, and too pass out in the front. And Strootman is perfect for it. Also his heavy build helps him to win challenges.
