It's the transfer deadline day and almost all the clubs are plotting moves for players here and there. The likes of Philippe Coutinho, Alexis Sanchez and Aymeric Laporte have completed their moves but there are several players who are still keen on leaving their current clubs.
The window for the English clubs ends at 11 pm BST, but the window for Bundesliga sides ends at 5 pm. The players can move from Bundesliga clubs after the deadline, but the German clubs cannot sign anyone. The same applies to English clubs as well.
On that note, here are 5 big signings that are expected to take place today:
#5 Lucas Moura to Tottenham Hotspur
Lucas Moura will complete his move to Tottenham Hotspur today according to The Telegraph. The PSG star is set to cost around £25 million as per the report.
The Brazilian midfielder was deemed surplus to requirements by Unai Emery earlier this month and was given the freedom to leave the French club before the window closes. Spurs jumped on the chance to sign him and have now secured the signing.
The 25-year-old has completed his medical as per the report by The Telegraph, with only an official announcement pending. The move might be the only incoming transfer for Spurs today as they haven't been linked with anyone else so far.
#4 Michy Batshuayi to Borussia Dortmund
Michy Batshuayi is heading to Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season as per reports in BILD. The German publication is known to be very reliable when it comes to transfer news, and have claimed that Chelsea will let the Belgian move once they sign Olivier Giroud.
The former Marseille striker has been a bit-part player at Stamford Bridge and was desperate to move to a club where he can play regularly. Antonio Conte often chose to play with Eden Hazard as a false 9 instead of starting the Belgian striker.
BBC's David Ornstein has reported that Batshuayi allegedly rejected the chance to join Tottenham as he wants to play regularly and not be a backup again. Dortmund are reportedly keen on signing him as a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
#3 Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City
Probably the most surprising move of the window! Pep Guardiola has asked for the signing of Riyad Mahrez as Leroy Sane is believed to out for a number of weeks, due to an injury, according to reports from Sky Sports.
The reports claim that Manchester City have already made three bids for the Algerian winger, while the third bid is said to be worth a whopping £55 million!
Mahrez added fuel to the fire by handing in a transfer request as well, and is understood to be keen on joining the Citizens. If signed, he will be City's second signing of the window with Aymeric Laporte being the first one.
#2 Olivier Giroud to Chelsea
Olivier Giroud is on the verge of joining Chelsea according to The Telegraph's Matt Law. The Chelsea correspondent for the English publication claims that the fee agreed between The Blues and Arsenal is around £18 million.
The report also claims that Giroud has verbally agreed terms with Chelsea and will be undergo his medical soon. The move will reportedly be completed before The Blues take on Bournemouth, according to the report.
Giroud's arrival will pave the way for Michy Batshuayi's loan move to Borussia Dortmund, who will be joining the Bundesliga side on loan until the end of the season.
#1 Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be joining Arsenal on Deadline Day according to BBC. The Gunners have reportedly agreed a £60 million deal with Borussia Dortmund for him and will be the final piece in the merry-go-round transfer deal.
Aubameyang's move will be announced once Chelsea complete the signing of Olivier Giroud and Borussia Dortmund sign Michy Batshuayi. The Gabon striker is already in London, to hold further talks with Arsenal, according to reports from Sky Sports.
The deal will break the Gunners' transfer record for the 2nd time in 6 months. Notably, they first broke the bank to land Alexandre Lacazette in the summer, but the Frenchman seems to have gone missing in a lot of matches and with Alexis Sanchez also leaving for Manchester United, Wenger seems to have decided to splash the cash on the Dortmund striker.
