#3 Ferran Torres - €45M
Ferran Torres was highly rated in La Liga after coming up through the ranks at Valencia. Manchester City were the first to notice and brought him to the Premier League in 2020. He started his career in England brightly but fell down the pecking order.
Even in the 2021-22 campaign, Torres started the campaign brilliantly but was replaced by the likes of Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva. To make matters worse, he ended up suffering a terrible injury. But there was always a doubt about how many minutes Torres could have secured at the Etihad.
He has now returned to La Liga in January with a move to Barcelona. His first appearance for Barcelona was successful as he assisted the only goal in the club's 1-0 win over Alaves.
#2 Ansu Fati - €60M
Ansu Fati's break on the scene was pretty spontaneous, but his performances since then have justified every bit of hype around him. After graduating from the academy, Fati was quickly promoted to the senior side based on his ability. Gifted with pace and guile, Fati has emerged as the next big thing in European football.
There was a battle over his national-side future, but Spain ultimately won the rights. Fati can play in several positions in the attack, but his best comes out on the left-wing. He has the pace to get the better of any opponent and relies on his speed and trickery.
But the current season has been unfortunate for the Bissau-born footballer. Fati suffered major injuries, including a hamstring issue keeping him out of the side. Nevertheless, Fati will be looking to bounce back as soon as possible to help Barcelona push for a top four finish.
#1 Pedri - €90M
Barcelona's leading cause of their financial troubles is down to the overspending they have done over the last few years. Expensive signings of Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho and Antoine Griezmann have all failed to reach the target plans. But not every transfer has been a waste of money, and Pedri is among those.
Barcelona did not shy away from spending big on the promising teenager acquired from UD Las Palmas in 2019. Pedri has justified the investment and faith put in him and has been one of the best young footballers in recent times. Pedri can unlock any defense with his accurate passing, swift feet, and technical brilliance.
He is adept at playing in several positions, but Xavi planned to play him as a central midfielder. Like Fati, Pedri has also suffered injuries but has recovered, and he will aim to help Barcelona win as many matches as possible.
