Richard Wright
Richard Wright was perhaps the unluckiest of them all. His spell at Everton was better known for his freak injuries than any of his performances!
Wright was signed from Arsenal, where he did not impress, having got only 12 appearances. He had a good start to his time at Everton, he suffered the first of his freak accidents, when he fell out of his loft!
Since then, after returning from that injury, he was consigned to the bench. He got his second chance when veteran keeper Nigel Martyn got injured. But he immediately got himself injured again, this time by falling on a sign warning players to use temporary goals.
He never fully recovered his place even after coming back, and remained understudy to new signing Tim Howard, before eventually being sold off.
