The 22 year-old Algerian initially moved to Schakle on a loan from Tottenham but after putting in a string of strong performances, the German club moved to make the move permanent.

Schalke had a largely disappointed season last year and Bentaleb faced a lot of criticism from the German media although he was one of their better performers. This season Schalke are aiming to make a considerable imprivement from last season and Bentaleb will certianly have to be at the heart of the improvement.

The former Spurs player's move to Schalke has given him much more attacking freedom. He gave the fans a glimpse of his talents, scoring 5 and assisting 7. Bentaleb will be hoping to kick on this year and help Schakle achieve the goals they have set for themselves. The Algerian will definitely be worth keeping an eye on during the course of the season.
