The peak age for a footballer is supposed to be 24-28. However, these forwards have time and again shown that age is just a number. All the forwards on this list are above 30 and have scored (and are still scoring) a bucketload of goals for both club and country.
Most of these players on this list are focal points for their attack and are the undoubted stars of the team. The way these players are going, they look all set to go on and dominate world football for years to come.
Without much ado, let us take a look at the 7 best strikers above the age of 30:
#7 Aritz Aduriz (37) - Athletic Bilbao
Aritz Aduriz is 37 years old now, and at an age where most footballers think about hanging up their boots, Aduriz is leading the line admirably for Athletic Bilbao. Aduriz has played the majority of his career at Bilbao although he has played for a number of Spanish clubs such as Valladolid, Mallorca, and Valencia.
After breaking into the first team of Bilbao at the age of 19, Aduriz had a decent spell at Valladolid. After 3 years there, he returned to Atheltic Bilbao but failed to make much of an impression due to the emergence of Fernando Llorente.
He moved on from Athletic to Mallorca where he put in some solid performances without being too spectacular. He had a good time at Mallorca and a decent first season at Valencia which gave him his first international cap for Spain.
However, after an indifferent second season at Valencia, Aduriz came back to his childhood club Bilbao where he has been amazingly consistent, scoring important goals at crucial times. This season as well, the Spain international has scored 8 goals in the league and scored an incredible 7 goals in 7 Europa League appearances.
Aduriz is undoubtedly an Athletic Bilbao legend.
#6 Iago Aspas (30) - Celta de Vigo
Liverpool fans might be shocked by his inclusion on this list, but there is no denying the fact that Aspas has been one of the standout performers in La Liga this season. The highest scoring Spaniard in the League, Aspas has almost singlehandedly made a very average Celta Vigo side into a good one.
Blessed with good dribbling skills, technical ability, and finishing skills, the Celta Vigo star with his good performances even earned a call-up to the Spain national team. Finding space in tight areas is Aspas' specialty and he has been extremely clinical this season scoring 16 league goals in 24 matches.
At 30, Aspas is playing some of the best football of his career and Celta Vigo will be hoping that the talented forward continues his good form this season. On a personal note, should Aspas continue his good form, he will be more than hopeful of making it to the 2018 Spain World Cup squad.
#5 Edin Dzeko (31) - AS Roma
One of the most underrated strikers in world football at the moment, Edin Dzeko was strongly linked with a move to Chelsea in the January transfer window. The Bosnian striker has been successful wherever he has played be it Bundesliga club Wolfsburg, Premier League side Manchester City and his current side AS Roma. A prolific goalscorer, Dzeko had a stunning 2016/17 season where he scored 39 goals in 51 appearances.
This season as well, the Bosnian superstar has been impressive contributing 11 goals in the Serie A and 3 goals in the Champions League. A complete striker, Dzeko will be crucial to Roma's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League this season.
Still only 31, Dzeko will be determined to add some more successful chapters to his already storied career.
#4 Gonzalo Higuain (30) - Juventus
Gonzalo Higuain has missed some crucial chances for the Argentine national team, but there is no doubting the fact that he is one of the best finishers in world football at the moment. Supremely prolific at the club level, the Argentine has time and again buried his chances with clinical precision.
Higuain was spectacular at Napoli and he has continued his good form after he made a controversial move to Juventus last season. With 14 goals in the Serie A and 4 goals in the Champions League, Higuain has time and again stepped up when Juventus have needed him the most.
With some crucial matches in Serie A and Champions League coming up for the Old Lady, Higuain will be hoping to continue his good form and fire his team to major titles this season.
#3 Jonas Oliveira (33) - Benfica
The 33-year-old forward has scored plenty of goals for Benfica this season and if he keeps it up, he will be breaking all kinds of scoring records in the Portuguese league. The Brazilian has scored an incredible 27 goals in 24 matches in the 2017/18 campaign and has been the man of the match 10 times already.
Jonas is one of the most complete strikers in the game and he is good in the air as well as with both feet. A late bloomer, Jonas is capable of making intelligent runs which catch the opposition defences off guard.
With Benfica desperately trying to catch up with Porto in the league, Jonas will be hoping to continue his astonishing goalscoring run till the end of the season.
#2 Luis Suarez (31) - Barcelona
Luis Suarez might have started the season slowly by his own high standards, but he has shown what he is capable of in the last few matches. Struggling with form and fitness at the beginning, the Uruguayan sharpshooter is back to his best and terrorising opposition defences once again.
Suarez’s contributions are not only restricted to the attacking side of the pitch. Always a team player, the Uruguayan can often be seen flying into tackles and working hard for the team when Barcelona relinquish possession.
Having scored 20 goals in 22 matches in La Liga, the 31-year-old striker is already the second highest goalscorer in the league (only behind Lionel Messi). With plenty of important matches coming up for Barcelona, Suarez will be keen to continue his good form and go fit and firing into the 2018 World Cup.
#1 Edinson Cavani (31) - PSG
Nipping in just ahead of his countryman Luis Suarez on this list, Edinson Cavani has been in blistering form for Paris Saint-Germain this season. Forming a fearsome trio along with the likes of Mbappe and Neymar, the Uruguayan has arguably taken his game to new heights in this campaign.
Often maligned for missing plenty of extremely presentable chances, Edinson Cavani has been answering his haters by plundering goals left, right and centre. Ever since the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Manchester United, Cavani has thrived playing in the centre-forward position he covets and has scored an incredible 24 goals in 25 games this season.
A quick, strong, opportunistic and prolific forward with good technique, the Uruguayan forward is known for his tireless work-rate and Unai Emery will be counting him on to deliver at the big stage.
Honurable mentions: Radamel Falcao (AS Monaco), Olivier Giroud (Chelsea), Fabio Quagliarella (Sampdoria), Jamie Vardy (Leicester City)
