4) Mohamed Salah
Mohammed Salah has done Chelsea a big favor in increasing his transfer value with his performances for Fiorentina. They can now sell Salah for a good amount of money and should do so swiftly.
Salah has proven he will not be successful for the Blues and can be good elsewhere. Chelsea can make a good sum of cash to fund other moves.
5) Victor Moses
Victor Moses never really made the grade at Chelsea. He was a good squad player his first season, but after bringing in several talented wingers, Moses never really stood a chance to maintain his spot.
He really is a mid-level Premier League player at best, as he is proving with his successful loan to Stoke City. The Blues should look to collect whatever they can for the Nigerian, and move onto wingers who are world class players.
6) Marko Marin
Marko Marin could possibly be the worst purchase Chelsea have made in the last four years. At one point dubbed the “German Messi”, Marin has been nothing but disappointing in his one season at Chelsea and all of his loans since them.
Chelsea should look to get him off their books this season and cut their losses. This one seems like an easy decision to me.
7) Oriol Romeu
Oriol Romeu is an interesting person for the Blues. He has been the subject of several loans in the last few seasons. However, Romeu was involved with the Blues in the pre-season, and performed quite well. As Chelsea are looking for further depth in the CDM position, could Romeu be given a shot as a squad player for the Blues after a pretty good loan in Germany?
However, I think incorporating the Spaniard would be an ill-advised move by Jose. Romeu has not broken into the first team for several seasons now. And Romeu being in the squad would take away playing time for several top prospects for Chelsea, namely Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Nathan Ake. The Blues should also sell Romeu, potentially making a decent profit off of the 23-year old.
In the modern world of Financial Fair Play, selling players has become vital in order to fund purchases, especially at large clubs. Chelsea need all the funds that they can get their hands on this summer. And selling fringe players is one way to raise funds.
Although Jose has said he is happy with his squad, I think we will see a summer of several transfer moves, finishing off his transitional period as Chelsea manager.
