Under their legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson, they won 13 Premier League titles and they were the most dominant team in the Premier League. Not only in England, they were one of the most feared side's in Europe as well.
But since his departure they have really struggled to mount a challenge for the Premier League title and the farthest they reached in the Champions League was the quarter-finals back in 2014.
Though they had their fair share of success with 1 FA Cup,1 League Cup and 1 Europa League. But for a club of United's size and history it is not acceptable.
They have spent millions and millions under new managers for new players. But they are nowhere close to where they used to be. Romelu Lukaku has already revealed that they are likely to again spend big in the transfer market.
If, they spend big in the market they will have to sell some players in order to accommodate their new players and balance thier books.
