Arsenal currently has a large number of young talents with players such as Emille Smith-Rowe and Bukayo Saka impressing for the first-team this season, whilst Reiss Nelson has really impressed on loan at Hoffenheim in Germany.

Here is a look at 8 young Arsenal players and whether Unai Emery should keep, sell or loan out.

#8 Matt Macey

Matt Macey has not had a nice time at League One9 club Plymouth. This season so far he has conceded 55 goals in 32 games, which sums up the troubles that he has had. Although, it is fair to say perhaps at a better club he would have done better. Unai Emery is not expected to hand the 24-year-old goalkeeper an extension at the end of the season.

Verdict: FREE TRANSFER

#7 Jordi Osei-Tutu

The young right-back has done very well in the under 23s this season and he looks like he could be a very similar player to Hector Bellerin with his raw speed and agility. It is believed he is likely to get loaned out in the summer in order to gain some first-team football.

Verdict: LOAN

#6 Julio Pleguezuelo

It feels like Julio Pleguezuelo has been part of the Arsenal academy for years and you would be right. Since he joined Arsenal from Barcelona at the young age of 17 Pleguezuelo has played a total of 60 times for Arsenal under 23s which shows how long he has been at the squad for. He was handed his first team debut for Arsenal against Blackpool in the Carabao Cup on the 31st of October 2018. Since then he has not made any appearances. It seems that the likelihood is that his time at Arsenal is up.

Verdict: SELL

#5 Krystian Bielik

England v Poland - U21 International Friendly
England v Poland - U21 International Friendly

Everyone was convinced that Bielik would become the next big thing when he signed from Legia Warsaw in January 2015. However, things have not gone to plan and he has struggled with game time at Arsenal. However, in his time at Arsenal, the Poland under 21 international has shone flashes of brilliance but he has not been consistent and has not been given enough game time.

Bielik still has a year left on his Arsenal contract and so Arsenal will be hoping to cash in on him whilst they still can. It is likely that if Arsenal does decide to sell him there will be a number of Championship clubs willing to snap him up.

Verdict: SELL

#4 Emile Smith Rowe

Emille Smith Rowe joined RB Leipzig recently for the second half of the season but has failed to make an appearance due to an injury that he has picked up. The hope is that he can make at least 5 appearances before the end of the season. It seems as though the would benefit from another loan move next season.

Verdict: LOAN

#3 Eddie Nketiah

Eddie Nketiah had a loan move to Augsburg blocked in January due to Arsenal and Unai Emery feeling that they would require him more in the second half of the season. This season has, however, not granted the player with much game time with the player only making 6 appearances so far for the first team this season. This perhaps indicates that it was a bad decision not to go out on loan. It depends on the future of Danny Welbeck but it seems sensible if he was to go out on loan next season to gain more first-team football.

Verdict: LOAN

#2 Joe Willock

Portugal U20 v England U20 - International Friendly

Joe Willock since making his debut for Arsenal last season has not had much of a chance to prove himself. He has only made 4 appearances for Arsenal this season although in those games he scored 3 goals which are impressive stats for a 19-year-old. In truth, a season on loan would do him good.

Verdict: LOAN

#1 Reiss Nelson

Reiss Nelson got loaned out to German side Hoffenheim in September to give him more game time, and this initially was a success with Nelson scoring 6 goals in his first 7 appearances for the club. However, he has recently hit a wall and has recently struggled with game time partly down to game time and also turning up late to training. However, it is fair to say that 24 appearances for Hoffenheim this season and 6 goals are not bad for a player that is only 19.

It seems as though with his raw pace and energy Unai Emery will be wanting him to stay at the club next season and it is likely that he could even become a starter. It will be interesting though to see whether or not Nelson will actually want to stay at the club. This is because with his potential some big clubs may come knocking on his door. In the past Bayern Munich have kept tabs on the player so who knows.

Verdict: KEEP.
