Mr. Rafael Benitez,

Everyone knows that you have had a fight with JT. Bruce Buck’s reply to a supporter earlier reflected on the frustration that Roman and Ron Gourdly are going through and your on-field substitutions that even made Sven Goran-Eriksson look bright, had already made you a disappointment in your current stint. Yet, from somewhere you found the audacity of coming out against the people who gave you a job even though you were doing nothing but just sitting on your bum for the past 2 years. Not that only you would have been a beneficiary of that deal. Chelsea, I admit, too were out of options when it came to appointing a new boss. Current awesome managers obviously would not come to Chelsea, not in the middle of the season at least, and you, a “had been” in some half-witted sense looked an ideal “replacement manager” or “interim manager” to the Chelsea board.

Anyway, that is something that we can do nothing but feel sad about. You now are Chelsea’s “interim” manager and Chelsea’s season has well and truly been your hands for the past 3 months and might remain till the rest of the season. But now I am very, very worried about how you can now actually do nothing good for the club. You well and truly hate the club (as we all knew already), you are not commited to the Chelsea’s “interim manager” cause, you have told the fans that the feeling of hate is mutual too and the players are too not on your side. Just how will you work with your full attention at Chelsea? How will you be able to stand in front of Elmano Armando during the training sessions? Two years at home and you have lost all the professionalism you had, haven’t you?

Allow me to elaborate why what you have done is wrong in every sense -

What you have done is that you have publicly accused the management and the supporters of the club. Not only is this completely unprofessional, to criticise your employers when you knew beforehand how they were, but it is a bigger mistake to rant against people who spend money to watch their team play and have been supporting the club before you even started managing a football club.

Also, your rants show your frustration and I will say that you are not able to manage the club. You are whining about the “interim” tag? Well, you didn’t sign the contract at a gun point, did you? You knew already what you were stepping into, and now that you have failed miserably, it seems that you are looking at others to blame for your failure.

Not even AVB, who was actually promised that he won’t be fired act in such a derogatory manner against the club, neither did Jose Mourinho, nor Scolari. Unfortunately, as it is I can actually name a number of world-class managers who were fired from Chelsea but never came out against the club like you did.

You do not care about Chelsea, rather you hate Chelsea. You took this job only to try to prove a point that you still have what it takes to be a manager at the top-level. All you care about is that now you will not get another job in the whole football world because you failed even with a world-class squad at your disposal, and it ruins everything that you came here for. And Mr. Rafa, this is why I think you lashed out in front of media yesterday. You have failed and you are now trying to point finger at others to hide your inability to manage a club.

Lastly, I would like to request you not to embarrass yourself or the club any more if you stay at the club till the weekend. You still have a chance to redeem yourself and learn from the mistakes you made in the last 3 months, and I hope against hope that you do that.

Thanking You,

A Chelsea supporter
