Manchester United are currently undergoing a dark period but there are some young players who could brighten up the team in the future. Young players have always flourished at United under Sir Alex Ferguson and it is a blessing that his successor David Moyes also puts faith in the youth. Some of the youngsters have really impressed their temporary clubs and could play a big part for Manchester United in the future. The outstanding players are:
Nick Powell: The youngster was bought by Sir Alex Ferguson for a fee of £4 million from Crewe Alexander and introduced himself to the world when he scored on his debut against Wigan Athletic. The 19-year-old is now on loan at the very club he scored against and has been a key player for the Lactics this season. Powell has scored 6 goals in 16 appearances for the club so far and created history when he became the first Lactics player to score a European goal. The talented midfielder has scored three goals in the Europa League so far, which is a sign that he can perform on the international stage. Powell has similar technical ability to United legend Paul Scholes and looks certain to rival the ‘Ginger Haired Magicians’ achievements if he keeps up the good work.
Jesse Lingard- The youngster was United’s top scorer on their recent pre season tour and holds the distinction of scoring the first Manchester United goal of the David Moyes era. Lingard scored a brace on his debut match against Sydney all stars and continued his performance in the games against Yokohama F. Marinos and Kitchee SC. The 20-year-old was then loan to Birmingham where he scored a remarkable four goals on his debut. The England Under-21 international has so far scored 6 goals in 10 appearances at Birmingham and is one of their star players. Lingard is an extremely talented midfielder who is gifted with technique, vision and pin-point passing abilities. The starlet will surely be a part of the first team in the near future.
Angelo Henriquez- Henriquez is another United player who is having a great loan spell. The 19-year-old is currently making waves at Real Zaragoza, where he has scored 5 goals in 11 appearances. The teenager was bought by Manchester United from Universidad de Chile, after he scored 11 goals in 17 games for the club. The Chilean scored on his debut for the Manchester United Reserves and was a key player for the 2012-2013 season. Henriquez is a lethal striker blessed with pace and an eye for goal. The player scored an impressive 21 goals in 17 games for the Chile U20 side and has already broken into the senior squad where he has scored 2 goals in 3 appearances. United have a future superstar in the form of Henriquez and it looks like he will emulate his country man Alexis Sanchez‘s exploits.
