A 'sad' Ronaldo is bad news for Real Madrid and La Liga

Ronaldo did not celebrate his goals in the 3-0 victory over Granada.

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most popular footballers in the world at the moment. The star was signed from Manchester United for a world record fee of 93 million Euros. Real Madrid can never complain about his work rate and are entitled to keep him as happy as possible. But, if he is ‘sad’ then it’s bad news for Real Madrid and La Liga. Ronaldo successfully restored the lost glory of Real Madrid. He single-handedly increased the number of global viewers of La Liga. His arrival marked the beginning of one of the greatest individual rivalries in the history of football. His instant success at Real Madrid seems more like a fairy tale. He looked like a player born to play for the Galácticos from the very first moment.

If Ronaldo leaves, it will be a huge loss for La Liga. The Real Madrid management and higher authorities have more than an equal share in this disappointing scenario. Cristiano Ronaldo has delivered more than any club in the world can ask for. Real Madrid fans often criticize him for failing against Fc Barcelona and the authorities show no support to their overachiever. And all this after he has scored an astounding 150 goals in 149 matches. Still the fans don’t show him the kind of love and respect he used to enjoy at Manchester United. He has delivered the La Liga crown back to Real Madrid after 3 long years. If the higher officials at Real Madrid can’t support him then it is indeed sad. Even Mario Balotelli enjoys far more support from his club and team supporters.

La Liga will surely lose a huge chunk of its viewers if Ronaldo leaves. El Clasicos will lose half its luster if there is no Messi vs Ronaldo on the field. Real Madrid looks like a very ordinary side without Ronaldo and will surely struggle without their top scorer. It should have been the top priority of the club to keep the legendary player happy. He should have been offered an equally lustrous contract by now and made sure that he stays for 5 more years. Real Madrid might not be able to win the La Liga title this year without him and Jose Mourinho can say goodbye to his dreams of winning a Champions League with his current club this season. It was a pity that Kaka was shown negligible support at the club and it will be a tragedy if something similar happens with Ronaldo.

If all this ends with the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid then any upcoming great footballer will thing twice before joining Real Madrid. It’s high time Real Madrid start giving Cristiano what he deserves or else the future looks dark for the legendary Spanish club.
