The man who beat cancer twice, Eric Abidal has speculated that if anyhow his former teammate Lionel Messi was planning a Camp Nou exit, then the best club he would probably fit into will be PSG. The ex-Barcelona star who was with the club for six years has also backed up any critics against his ex-teammate Lionel Messi.
The Argentinean international is experiencing a tensed atmosphere in his current club as his relationship with Luis Enrique were reported to have been somewhat fractured last month, increasing the speculation about him leaving his childhood club.
But, Messi will of course not come cheap for any club, and if he is to move to a different club, Messi’s transfer fee would set a world record, no doubt about that. When the ‘money factor’ comes in between there are very few clubs remaining who can actually make these transfer possible.
But according to Abidal, the Ligue 1 club will be the best-suited club for the 4 times Ballon d’Or winner.
Here is what Abidal said to telefoot: "As he has won everything at Barcelona, he would perhaps consider a new challenge in order to win new things. It’s possible. PSG has recently forged a group of players with determination and big objectives to reach. It may be a club that could please Messi."
“His influence on Barca is total. With his goals, he masks tensions, administrative or legal problems. He carries the team on his shoulders and allows it to live peacefully. He’s part of a group of deciders,” Abidal continued.
“I’ve never seen Leo ask for anything. Even regarding the team selection.”
