After scraping out Adidas Predator along with other football silos few weeks ago, Adidas launched two new football boots on 25th May, 2015. The Adidas Ace and X for the year 2015. Adidas launched these football boot silos based on the idea that footballers either play with total control or embrace chaos.
Watch the following video to know the story behind Adidas X 15.1.
Adidas claims that Adidas X brings unpredictability along with speed and agility on the pitch. We all got a first look at these boots during the Champions League Final on June 6, 2015.
If you are looking for similarities between Adidas X 15.1 and any other current Adidas football boot silos, end your search now. Adidas created a unique styling for the boot. It does not feature the iconic three stripes. Solar Yellow/Black is the launch colorway. Adidas branding is printed on the heel area. It is the ultimate weapon for all the unpredictable players on the pitch. According to Adidas, the X 15.1 is handcrafted for perfection.
Technology wise, the upper features X-SKIN. X-SKIN is a three-layered ultra-thin soft synthetic upper material designed to provide unmatched levels of performance, comfort and protection. It also features a chassis for reinforcement. Adidas calls is as X-CAGE. This reinforced cage wraps your foot during high agility moves in a perfect manner and avoids your feet to slip. It offers exceptional lockdown.
Like Adidas Ace, it also features NSG (Non Stop Grip). It aids in terrific ball control in all weather conditions, something similar to Nike’s ACC (Nike launched it before Adidas, now you know who is winning in this technology battle). The Non Stop Grip is a structure of microdots positioned strategically all over the upper of Adidas X 15.1. It improves the connection to the ball in any weather condition.
It has a brand new Exoframe outsole. The Exoframe outsole provides mind-boggling levels of torsional integrity and stability. Not only that, it also features triangular studs on the outsole. To achieve unparalleled acceleration along with uncompromising traction, it has a brand new X-CLAW stud pattern. It features traditional studs along with a second level of studs for instant acceleration on FG surfaces.
The Adidas X is the first commercial Adidas Football Boot to feature a Dynamic Fit collar (yeah, Adidas did not have it until now). Adidas calls it the Techfit collar. It is designed to offer flexible ankle support with a sock-like fit and at the same time, it maximizes acceleration. This is something similar to what Nike offers in its football boots like the Magista Obra and Nike Hypervenom Phantom II.
A leather version of Adidas X 15.1 is also available. It will feature a super-soft Kangaroo leather upper for players who prefer leather over synthetic material. X 15.1 Leather does not feature X-CAGE though. The X 15.1 weighs around 213g. Adidas X 15.1 is the top model while Adidas also unveiled lower tier models. The 15.2, 15.3 and 15.4.
Adidas athletes like Gareth Bale, Thomas Muller, Luis Suarez and Karim Benzema will wear these football boots. It retails at $220 i.e. around 14,000 INR. It will be available from July 2015.
Bottom-line: A true game changer.
