Adnan Januzaj has admitted he cannot wait to finally get to work with new Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal this summer. While the attacker also highlighted that the relationship he has with Ryan Giggs.
Manchester United hired van Gaal as manager on Monday after weeks of negotiations, with Ryan Giggs retiring from football and acting as the Dutchman’s assistant.
Van Gaal will officially take over after the World Cup, as he is currently preparing Holland for the tournament in Brazil this summer. The former Bayern Munich and Barcelona man will take over during Manchester United’s pre-season tour following the conclusion of the big event.
Januzaj, who is in Belgium’s World Cup squad, is looking forward to working with the new management.
He told Sky Sports News: “I feel very happy because he is a great manager. He’s won a lot and I’m looking forward to working with him. We are going to have a great future.”
Januzaj also paid tribute to Ryan Giggs.
He said: “Every time I was playing on the pitch, I was asking Giggsy for advice on how to play and what to do on the pitch.
“He helped me a lot. He was a great player and I have respect for him. It is very important to have someone like him at the club.”
Januzaj created 31 chances this season, the fourth-highest in the Manchester United squad.
