Adnan Januzaj – Who? Where? Why?

Manchester United’s young Belgian starlet Adnan Januzaj has caught fire online. Apart from bagging a brace to secure his first Premier League goals to drag his side back into the game and put them into the lead against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, the 18-year old was the subject of numerous inquiries online on topics ranging from his ethnic background, his complex name and even (common these days) his girlfriend!!!

In a team that also contained the likes of Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie, the religion of Adnan Januzaj was the subject of much interest. It even overshadowed the reported rumour that Wilfried Zaha has not featured much for United due to a certain affair that he had with David Moyes’ daughter.

To clear all the smoke (alright that’s reserved for a certain Jack Wilshere), Januzaj was born in Brussels to Kosovar-Albanian parents. After much back-breaking research, it has been discovered that this group of Albanians are the largest ethnic group in Kosovo and the most widespread religion there is Islam.

And yes, it can be confirmed that Adnan Januzaj is the first Muslim to have played and scored for Manchester United in the Premier League; if that is of any significance to you.
