Adnan Januzaj and Andreas Pereira not in first team because of excess showboating

Adnan Januzaj has been absent from the Manchester United first team for a while

Manchester United youngsters, Adnan Januzaj and Andreas Pereira, fail to make it to the first team after being accused of excess showboating in a recent Under 21 match. The Belgian and Brasilian youngsters showed a lot of promise after they broke into the first team under David Moyes in 2013.

According to the Daily Mail, Louis van Gaal is not happy with the two of them as they continued to put themselves ahead of the team in the U21 fixture. The two of them reportedly had an insider bet as to who could score from the corner flag among others and this has infuriated the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager.

Earlier this season, the Belgian youngster was sent out on loan to Borussia Dortmund but failed to nail down a starting spot or garner any continuous playing time due to poor behavior and not being committed enough.

His return to Manchester United didn't help matters as the Dutch manager deemed him unfit for first team inclusion resorting in him training and playing with the Manchester United Under 21s. With the UEFA Euro 16 around the corner, the Belgian is expected to clean his act and ensure he gets sufficient playing time with the Red Devils.

Pereira, meanwhile, is included in the Selecao squad that will take part in the Rio Olympics later this year. The midfielder has also been accused of putting himself ahead of the team on multiple occasions where the two of them have played in the Manchester United under 21 squad.

While Januzaj has a few appearances, goals and assists to his name, Pereira has fairly lesser contributions to the team but has showed equal or some might say even higher potential in the centre of the field.

With the likes of Michael Carrick, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Ander Herrera often injured this season, the Brazilian had ample chances to get into the first team but his overexuberance on under 21 stage has kept him in the shadows.
