The Premier League is back once again, and Bournemouth will kick it off this weekend when they host Liverpool on Saturday. The Cherries have been in superb form this season, as they sit 7th in the league, their best ever start to the Premier League.
If results go their way, Bournemouth will leapfrog Everton and sit in 6th, 5 points behind Arsenal, which could potentially see them in European competition next season.
However it doesn't come so easy for Bournemouth, as they face Liverpool who haven't lost in the Premier League this year, and are putting up a real fight with Manchester City for the title.
Liverpool are only 2 points behind the Manchester club, and if City lose to Chelsea later on in the day, you would see Liverpool sit at the top of the table. It is a game Liverpool have to win.
Team news
Bournemouth may be in some good form this season, but injuries have rocked the side. Lewis Cook will face a lengthy lay off on the sidelines, as he suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury, sustained in the win against Huddersfield on Tuesday.
Dan Gosling will also miss the match due to a knee injury, along with other fitness issues with many unnamed players. Sounds like Bournemouth are short on midfielders and will probably need to fix that in the upcoming January transfer window.
However, Liverpool also have some injury concerns to deal with as well. Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne miss out, whereas Joe Gomez is out for many weeks as he suffered a fracture on his lower leg.
Sadio Mane is a doubt because of a deep cut on his foot, and will probably have a late fitness test.
It is a fixture which will be mouth watering to watch, as these two have scored 22 goals in their last 6 Premier League meetings. This is a game perfectly suited for an early kick off, giving football fans a good treat to start proceedings.
