AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa has praised the initiatives taken by the Palestine Football Association (PFA) to develop the infrastructure in the West Asian country.
The PFA has planned to inaugurate its headquarters in Al Ram, two football stadiums in Tulkarm and Faraa and will also launch its first football academy in Al Bireh next month.
“I am very pleased to see the progress of Palestine football. The Palestine Football Association has taken great steps to develop infrastructure in the country and I am confident that these two new stadiums will add value to their development efforts,” he said.
“I would also like to congratulate the PFA for getting their new headquarters ready and I am sure that the new academy in Al Bireh will provide a platform for the youngsters to hone their skills under expert guidance.”
Shaikh Salman also threw his full support behind Palestine Football Association President Jibril Rajoub’s call for an end to the misery of Palestine football.
Shaikh Salman said: “Palestine is a full member of FIFA and AFC and they have every right to host international competitions.
“The FIFA President has assured Palestine that he would personally intervene to try and end the sporting problem and I would strongly support his initiative,” he added.
