It was close to two years back when I finally made my first trip to Aizawl. The land from where the likes of Shylo Malsawmtluanga and Jeje Lalpekhlua hail, always interested me and thanks to my friend Lalnghinglova Hmar (Tetea) and his good work as the general secretary of the state FA, the interest kept on increasing every passing day.
Crossing the inner line of control and entry into the dry state intrigued me by the time I hit the main city. You could feel football and breathe it as well. The conversations and sights pretty much indicated the love for football in this north-eastern state. Robert Royte, the owner of the club, is not only an able businessman but a sharp football administrator. The vision to create a presence in the national scene, though ambitious, was well planned.
