Dutch football club Ajax increased their lead at the top of the table beating NEC Nijmegen 4-1 while PSV and Feyenoord dropped points.

Ajax took an early 2-0 lead Sunday through Viktor Fischer and an own goal by Rens van Eijden. Fischer added another goal with a beautiful chip in the 77th minute, reports Xinhua.

Nick van der Velden scored the consolation goal of the visitors before substitute Ryan Babel, who returned after a two-months knee injury lay-off, produced the final goal in Amsterdam.

“I am very satisfied with the first half, with a bit of luck we could have scored more goals,” Ajax coach Frank de Boer said afterwards. “After the break it went up and down, although they did not create many chances.”

Also Sundaym PSV squandered a 2-1 lead to be held 2-2 at Roda JC Kerkrade. The home team went ahead through Frank Demouge but Ola Toivonen’s two goals earned PSV a 2-1 lead at half-time. In the 87th minute Sanharib Malki produced the equalizer.

“We gave away the victory in the final minutes, that’s a lack of quality,” PSV coach Dick Advocaat declared. “It’s frustrating, but we still can become champions.”

Vitesse Arnhem made no mistake beating PEC Zwolle 2-1. League topscorer Wilfried Bony lifted his goals tally to 27, while Mike Havenaar doubled the score. Arsenio Valpoort was responsible for the only Zwolle goal.
