Al Duhail and Al Arabi went on top of the Qatar Stars League following a 1-1 draw at Al Wakrah's Al Janoub Stadium on Thursday.
The home side broke the deadlock in the 7th minute with Tunisian forward Youssef Msakni.
Former Cardiff City midfielder Aron Gunnarsson levelled the score five minutes before half time.
The two teams are now level on points at four after two games of the league, with Al Arabi on top thanks to a better goal difference.
